Potentials for beneficial insect promotion in agri-photovoltaic systems (Solarnützlinge)

Objective

Investigating the potential impact of agri-photovoltaic (APV) installations on functional biodiversity and developing and testing ways to promote beneficial insects in these installations

Methodology

  • Field study: Investigation of existing APV systems for the abundance and diversity of beneficial insects
  • Development of biodiversity-promoting integration elements and their testing in the field
  • Carrying out experiments on the direct effects of PV modules on selected beneficial and harmful insects

Climate effect under consideration

Exploiting synergistic effects through targeted promotion of functional diversity in APV systems
