Sustainable diets and reduction of losses in the value chain

In order for agriculture and nutrition to contribute to more climate protection, it is essential to consider the entire food chain. This includes agricultural production up to consumption, considering the avoidance and recycling of food waste. Consumers and the sustainable design of diets are particularly important here. A wide range of aspects are addressed in the topic area, from greenhouse gas reduction through new approaches in breeding and storage, to assessment of carbon footprints including food waste, to social impacts of nutrition and climate-friendly behaviour.
