Objective

Climate-friendly viticulture through identification of climate change mitigation potentials and development of recommendations for viticulture practice

 

Methodology

  • Quantitative survey of demographic, farm-specific, natural and viticultural practices and winemaking methods
  • Interviews with winegrowers and farm managers, digitalisation of data and life cycle assessment (LCA)
  • Use of econometric models to examine the inputs and influencing factors determining wine carbon footprints
  • Identification and assessment of the effectiveness and efficiency of production methods evaluated in the project to support climate-friendly viticulture
